The Preamble of the Indian Constitution The story influenced by the American Constitution is considered the best in the world. The Preamble is considered to be the essence of the Constitution and is also called the Key to the Constitution. The Preamble declares that the Constitution derives its power directly from the public. That is why it starts with "We the people of India".


The Indian Constitution begins with the Preamble, this idea was taken from the US Constitution, while the language of the Preamble is derived from the Australian Constitution.


On 13 December 1946, the purpose resolution of the preamble by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was accepted by the Constituent Assembly on 22 January 1947.

"We, the people of India, make all of its citizens social, economic and political justice, equality of thought, expression, belief, religion and worship, equality of opportunity and opportunity, to make India a fully dominated socialist secular democratic republic, To achieve and in all of them, to ensure the dignity of the person and the unity and integrity of the national, to increase fraternity, determined today in its Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 (Miti Margashirsha Shukla Saptami Samvat 2006 Vikrami) We hereby adopt, enact and dedicate this Constitution. The Merciless Union later 1960:- does not consider the Preamble as part of the constitution because even if it is deleted, whatever constitution can maintain its special status.


Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala 1973:- calls it a part of the Constitution, being a part of the Constitution, Parliament amended it with the 42nd Constitutional Amendment and added the words socialist, secular and integrity. The new opinion is valid in the present.


Analysis of preamble words

Sovereignty: - This means that India is capable of taking any independent decision in its internal and foreign affairs i.e. it is not subject to any other foreign authority.

Socialist: - The aim of democratic socialism is to eliminate disease and equality of opportunity rather than poverty. It believes in mixed economy.

Secular: India neither gives statehood to any religion nor deprives anyone of religious freedom.

Democratic: - In any democratic economy, power is in the hands of the people.


> Republic (republic) - Republic republic is the country where citizens qualify to hold any post, in such states the heads of state are elected directly or indirectly by the public rather than hereditary.

> The 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act 1976 has so far been amended in the preamble only once by three in which the words socialist, secularism and integrity were added.

> Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah called Na the soul of the Constitution.

> K. M. Munshi, the preamble was called the 'birth chart' of the autocratic Republic, a sovereign secular system of sovereignty.
