Bihar STET 2025 Apply Online Form, Check Eligibility Criteria And Last Date

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has opened the registration window for Bihar STET 2025 at bsebstet.org. Eligible candidates can apply online until September 27, 2025. The exam will be held from October 4 to 25, with results on November 1.

Application Fees

For applicants taking one paper (Paper I or Paper II)

  • General,  (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates: ₹960.
  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates: ₹760.

For applicants taking both papers (Paper I and Paper II)

  • General, OBC, and EWS candidates: ₹1,440.
  • SC, ST, and PwD candidates: ₹1,140.


Age Limit

The minimum age is 21 years. The maximum age is 37 years, with age relaxation provided for reserved categories.


Educational Qualification

You must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognized university, along with a B.Ed. or equivalent teacher training qualification.


Subject Wise Eligibility

To apply for the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) STET 2025, candidates must meet subject-specific educational qualifications, which vary for Paper 1 (Secondary level, classes 9–10) and Paper 2 (Higher Secondary level, classes 11–12). For most subjects, a Bachelor's degree for Paper 1 or a Master's degree for Paper 2, along with a B.Ed., is mandatory.

For Paper 1 (Secondary: Classes 9–10), candidates generally need a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% in the relevant subject and a B.Ed.. Specific subject requirements exist, such as a Bachelor's with Mathematics and a related subject for the Mathematics position, a Bachelor's in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry for Science, or a degree with at least two subjects from History, Geography, Economics, or Political Science (including either History or Geography) for Social Science.

For Paper 2 (Higher Secondary: Classes 11–12), a Master's degree with at least 50% in the relevant subject and a B.Ed. is typically needed, except for Computer Science where a B.Ed. is not required. Specific qualifications are outlined for subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Language subjects, and Commerce, often requiring a Master's in the respective field. Various qualifications are accepted for Computer Science, including an 'A' Level from DOEACC with a postgraduate degree, B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT, or M.Sc. (Computer Science)/MCA.

Bihar STET 2025 Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 150 objective-type questions, with no negative marking.

  • Total marks: 150
  • Total questions: 150
  • Question type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
  • Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer; no negative marking

The exam is divided into two parts:-

  • Part 1: Subject-specific: 100 questions carrying 100 marks based on the specified subject.
  • Part 2: Teaching pedagogy and other topics: 50 questions carrying 50 marks, which are common for all subjects.


Bihar STET 2025 Exam Levels

The Bihar STET exam is conducted for two different papers based on the teaching level: -

  • Paper-I: For candidates who want to become Secondary Level teachers (Classes 9 and 10).
  • Paper-II: For those aspiring to become Higher Secondary Level teachers (Classes 11 and 12).

Important Points To Note

The minimum marks differ based on the candidate's category. For instance, a General category candidate must score 50%, whereas a candidate in the SC/ST/PwD/Women category must score 40%.

For the BC (Backward Class) and EBC (Extremely Backward Class) categories, the passing percentages are 45.5% and 42.5%, respectively.

There is no negative marking in the Bihar STET exam, so marks are not deducted for incorrect answers.
