It is issued to the beneficiary to pay for a specific service. E-Rupee is a cashless and contactless means of digital payment. It is a QR code or SMS string-based e-voucher, which is delivered to the mobile of the beneficiaries.


 The users of this seamless one time payment mechanism will be able to redeem the voucher without having to access the card, digital payment app or internet banking at the service provider centre.


 e-RUPI has been created by?


 e-RUPI: It is developed by National Payments Corporation of India on its UPI platform in collaboration with Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and National Health Authority.


 What are the benefits of e-RUPI?


E-Rupee connects the sponsors of the services with the beneficiaries and service providers in a digital manner without any physical interface.


 It also ensures that payment is made to the service provider only after the transaction is completed.


 E-Rupee is prepaid in nature, so it assures timely payment to the service provider without the involvement of any intermediary.


Direct funds transfer to the service provider's account through the ERP code received on the beneficiary's mobile.


 Government entities, corporates or any service sponsor can generate eRupee vouchers with the help of their partner banks.


 After this, the beneficiary can make the payment through ERP at the service provider center.


 The QR code or the e-Rup voucher received in the form of SMS will be scanned at the Service Provider Center.


 A code will be sent to the beneficiary's mobile number for verification of the beneficiary.


 Upon verification, the voucher will be redeemed and payment will be made immediately.

It can be sent by the government or any person. For this, you have to first remove the voucher by opening the e-RUPI app.


After this you have to show the e-RUPI voucher in the hospital.


Your voucher will be converted into a QR code. After this the hospital staff will scan the QR code.

 How to use e-RUPI?


Financially able people will be able to issue e-rupee to a poor person and will be able to bear the cost of his vaccination.


 This non-transferable electronic voucher can only be used by the beneficiary for whom it has been issued.


 e-RUPI will be sent to the beneficiary's mobile. This will be in the form of QR code or SMS code.


 They can be scanned at private vaccination centers.
