Friends would have seen the rain of the sky, but do you know what are meteorites, so today we will talk about meteorites. If you read this blog thoroughly, then today you will have many doubts and you will be able to understand very well that after all there are meteors, let's know in detail.
What is a meteor shower?
If it's meteor shower time, you won't need binoculars, binoculars, or a high mountain to have a "star gazing" party. You may need a warm sleeping bag and an alarm clock to wake you up in the middle of the night. After this but then just lie down facing towards the sky. Keep in mind that you can see the whole sky from here lying on the open terrace. Because it is very important for you to choose the right place to enjoy a great show, otherwise you will not be able to see the meteor shower properly.
What is a Meteorite ?
Meteor is a space rock which we also call meteorite. When it enters the Earth's atmosphere, it moves very fast. As the space rock falls toward Earth, the air's resistance or pull on the rock makes it extremely hot. What we see are "shooting stars". That bright streak is not actually a rock, but a hot rock as the glowing hot air passes through the atmosphere.
So when the Earth encounters several meteorites simultaneously, we call it a meteor shower.
Why would Earth encounter multiple meteorites at once?
Like Earth and other planets, comets also revolve around the Sun. In contrast to the nearly circular orbits of the planets, the orbits of comets are usually quite one-sided.
As the comet gets closer to the Sun, some of its icy surface boils away, leaving lots of dust and rock particles. This comet debris disintegrates on the comet's path, especially in the inner Solar System (where we live) as the Sun's heat boils up more and more ice and debris. Then, several times each year as the Earth makes its journey around the Sun, its orbit crosses the orbit of a comet, meaning that the Earth is shrouded in a mass of comet debris.
Don't worry too much
Meteorites are usually small, ranging in size from a particle of dust to a boulder. They are almost always small enough to burn up quickly in our atmosphere, so there is little chance that any of them will hit Earth's surface. But there's a good chance you can watch a beautiful Shooting Star show in the middle of the night!
In the case of a meteor shower, the glowing streaks can appear anywhere in the sky, but their "tails" all point back to the same spot in the sky. This is because all the meteors are approaching us at the same angle, and as they get closer to Earth, the effect of perspective begins to fade away from them. It is like standing in the middle of a railway track and watching how two tracks come together in the distance.
That's why meteor showers are named for the constellation from which meteorites seem to come. For example, the Orionids meteor shower, which occurs every year in October, originates near the constellation Orion the Hunter. We should see this because such opportunities do not come again and again in life.
