 The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a short notice for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 (Advt No. CEN 09/2025). The detailed notification is scheduled to be released on January 30, 2026, with applications opening the following day.

Vacancy Details

Approximately 22,000 Level-1 vacancies will be filled through this drive. Key posts include:-

Track Maintainer Grade-IV: 11,000 vacancies

Pointsman B: 5,000 vacancies

Assistant (S&T): 1,500 vacancies

Assistant (C&W): 1,000 vacancies

Other Assistant Posts: Bridge, Track Machine, TRD, Loco Shed, and Operations.


Age Limit (as of Jan 1, 2026)

  • 18 to 33 years
  • Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


Application Fees

General/OBC/EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT).

SC/ST/Female/PwBD/Transgender/EBC: ₹250 (Full ₹250 refundable after appearing in CBT).


Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or hold an ITI from a recognized institution or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.


Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes. Sections include Mathematics (25), Reasoning (30), Science (25), and General Awareness (20).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature (e.g., carrying 35kg weight for males or 20kg for females).

Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final stages before appointment.


Negative Marking

  • 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer


Aadhaar Verification

Mandatory for all applicants; Details must match the Class 10 certificate.


Salary Of RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

Basic pay of ₹18,000 (Level 1 of 7th CPC), with an expected in-hand monthly salary ranging from ₹22,500 to ₹25,380 including allowances like DA and HRA.

Registration: Visit the RRB Apply portal, click on "New Registration," and enter your basic details including name, date of birth, and Aadhaar number.

Verification: Verify your mobile number and email ID using the OTPs sent to them to generate a unique Registration ID.

Application Part I: Log in with your credentials and fill in academic qualifications, community, and personal details.

Application Part II (Post Preference): Select your preferred railway zone and the order of priority for posts (e.g., Track Maintainer, Pointsman).
