How To Find IP Address 

There are several ways to find your IP address:

On Windows:

Open the Start menu and type "cmd" in the search bar.

Press Enter to open the Command Prompt.

Type "ipconfig" and press Enter.

Your IP address will be listed under "Ethernet adapter" or "Wireless LAN adapter," depending on how you are connected to the network.

On Mac:

Open the Apple menu and select "System Preferences."

Click on the "Network" icon.

Select the network connection you want to view the IP address for (e.g., Ethernet or Wi-Fi).

The IP address will be listed next to "IP Address."

On a mobile device: On Android: Go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Wi-Fi" and tap on the name of the network you are connected to. Your IP address will be listed under "IP Address."


On iOS: Go to "Settings" > "Wi-Fi" and tap on the name of the network you are connected to. Your IP address will be listed next to "IP Address."


On a website:

You can also visit a website that displays your IP address, such as whatismyip.com. Simply visit the website in your web browser and it will display your IP address.

Type Of IP Address 

There are two main types of IP addresses: IPv4 and IPv6.

IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) is the most widely used type of IP address. It consists of four numbers separated by periods, with each number ranging from 0 to 255. For example, 192.168.1.1 is a valid IPv4 address.


IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) is the next generation of IP addresses. It was developed to address the increasing demand for IP addresses due to the growing number of devices that are connected to the Internet. IPv6 addresses are longer and more complex than IPv4 addresses, and they are represented using hexadecimal digits. For example, 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334 is a valid IPv6 address.
